Join Guerrilla Fitness as we embark on the challenge to be one of the 1st CrossFit affiliates to build a school in Africa and host the largest Crossfit class to date!
In 2009 Guerrilla Fitness raised over $62,000 for Wounded Warriors. No gym raised more.
In 2012 Guerrilla Fitness raised over $49,000 for St. Jude Children's Hospital. No gym raised more.
On January 26th 2012, Guerrilla Fitness will raise $14,000, the cost to build 1 school in Kenya.
The "Hope for Kenya" initiative will build schools in rural Kenya. These schools are 2 room structures made of cinder blocks, cement, tin sheet roofing, and meant to last a lifetime. Right now, the children in this part of Africa are meeting in run down buildings made of sticks and mud. These classrooms are literally falling down around the students. The natives had no alternative to this until "CrossFit" aligned with the non-profit organization "Koins for Kenya", to make a change one village at a time.

Wow. This whole post gives me goose bumps. I am so proud to be a GF member.
I like this.
Two of my best friends are touring the third world right now and they recently visited a school in Madagascar. Check out their story here – surely an incentive to participate in this awesome event:

I love that GF gets involved in raising money and awareness for great causes. I will be out of the country on December 8. Can I make a donation?
Of course Dana. Why don’t you sponsor someone that can attend.
Good idea! I’ll sponsor John.

Done and done. Great idea, great cause.
i love our community for this enthusiasm and support!
LOVE this and a huge reason why I love being a part of the CF community – all banding together for the greater good.
I am sorry to say that I will be out of town on this weekend but I will definitely be sponsoring our athletes and will be with you all in spirit on the 8th.
If I can’t physically go and lift the cinder blocks over in Kenya to help, I’ll lift weights within our cinder-blocked walls here in Montclair for the cause.
In.
